Can Rai Benjamin achieve career redemption by winning his first major athletics championship? Rai Benjamin of the United States has been arguably one of the top two or three performers in the men's 400 meter hurdles over the past half-decade. He pushed Norway's Karsten Warholm to the world record that was set in the Olympics final in Tokyo (2021), finishing second Warholm (45.94 seconds) in 46.17 seconds.

The following year, he was second to Brazil's Alison Dos Santos in the World Championships that were held in Eugene, Oregon, and he was third to Warholm in last's year's World Champions that were in Budapest. Entering this year's Olympic final, Benjamin has the world fastest time at 46.48 seconds.

This year's final is deep as the top five finishers from Tokyo have qualified in Paris. Those finishers were Kyron McMaster of the British Virgin Islands (4th) and Abderraham Samba of Quatar (5th).
