Elaine Thompson-Herah has capped an incredible 2021 season by being named World Athletics Female Athlete of the Year for the first time in her career.

The latest accolade was announced during a virtual ceremony in Monaco on Wednesday.

Norway’s Karsten Warholm picked up the award on the men’s side.
