Don't be fooled by her beauty but Yaroslava Mahuchikh is a Ukrainian high jumper. In March 2022, days after fleeing the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Mahuchikh claimed the gold medal in the high jump at the World Athletics Indoor Championships in Belgrade. She had to undertake a three-day journey of 2000 km by car from Ukraine to Serbia in order to compete at the championships.
