The second episode from this summer's hikes. This video might even be a bit slower-paced than the one from Katthammaren.
We needed to tries to make it happen. Upon arrival in Dønna, the weather all over north Norway changed to 10 degrees and heavy rain. There wasn't much sense in staying anywhere near so we decided to drive 10 hours south to at least have a bit of summer.
The second time, we were lucky 27 degrees and pure summer, at least until the afternoon of our arrival date. Right about 3 pm, a wave of sea fog rolled in and made it impossible to see anything. Hiking in these conditions would have been hopeless, so we waited another night.
Even tho the fog was still there the next morning, we decided to go. It did not take long until things cleared up and we had the best summer weather you could imagine (It was pretty warm for a malamute tho, so we cooled Yuki with regular baths).
How the rest goes, you can see for yourself.
Hopefully, you enjoy these relaxing videos :)
About the hike:
Dønnamannen, The man from Dønna
Take the ferry from Sandnessjøen to Dønna (within the week it drives pretty frequently). Some rides make take a little longer as you're stopping by a neighbor island along the way.
858 moh. 50% easy 50% steep
Duration 2.5 H (one way)
Google maps for parking lot: (66.0461250, 12.3977206)
Free parking. Free Camping along the beach. Prepare for a good amount of wind.
Hike for semi-experienced mountain hikers, doable for most without any experience too if the weather is warm and dry. Otherwise, it can get a bit slippery.
