The Men's Triple Jump Event kicked off at 12:32 (Local Time), at the University of Oregon's Hayward Field, on August 21, 2021. The temperature range that day was between 13°C - 26°C (55°F - 78°F). The City of Eugene is located at an Altitude of 131 meters (430 feet) above sea level.

The event featured a strong field of seven Tokyo Olympians: former Arizona State Sun Devil Chis Benard (USA), Max Heß (Germany), the remaining five were Olympic Finalists: Andrea Dallavalle (Italy), former University of Florida Gator Will Claye (USA), former EMU Eagle Donald Scott (USA), Olympic Bronze Medalist Fabrice Hugues Zango (Burkina Faso), the Olympic Champion Pedro Pichardo (Portugal).

Side Note: Pichardo is also the Reigning European Indoor Champion. End Side Note.

Pedro Pichardo (Portugal) did a final jump of 17.63 meters, good enough for the win, two weeks after his Gold Medal-Winning Performance at the Tokyo Olympics. His winning mark at Hayward Field represented a decrease in distance of 2.49% with respect to his Personal Best of 18.08 meters (2015).
